THE LONELY ARTS CLUB
Lydia Ward
After years of formative and creatively-stimulating experiences in Paris and subsequently New York, I was able to experiment, develop and evolve my practise to find my artistic direction.
I like to describe myself as an environmental artist. My practice involves the use of materials that would normally end up in landfill, or dumped in our oceans; Horrific acts of pollution and disregard for our planet. I experiment with vibrant and enticing colours through different plastics, woods, fabric, paint and found objects, donated or discovered, to create and demonstrate reusability - at the same time provoking thought, discussion and inspiration.
